How to Delegate or Vote

This guide will explain how you can participate in Spark Governance by delegating your voting power or voting directly.

Voting Power

Your voting power is the sum of your SPK tokens and staked SPK tokens in your wallet.

Delegation

Note: You can only delegate your voting power to whitelisted delegates. This means you cannot delegate to an arbitrary address. The Governance page at app.spark.fi/spk/governance will guide you through the process of delegating to a whitelisted delegate. If you delegate to another address through the Snapshot interface, the voting power is not counted. You might see non whitelisted delegates in the Snapshot UI, due to their global delegation, but they do not have any voting power beyond their own token holdings.

Delegating increases the Spark points you earn. You can find the campaign details here: app.spark.fi/points.

How to Delegate Your Voting Power

  1. Navigate to app.spark.fi/spk/governance and connect your wallet, and click "Delegate".

  1. Select the delegate you wish to delegate to, and click “Delegate” in the Actions section of the window.

  1. That’s it, your SPK voting power has now been delegated!

Changing delegation or undelegating

  1. If you wish to change your existing delegation to another delegate you can simply click “Delegate” in the Voting power delegation section of the governance page.

  1. This will open the Delegation window, and select the delegate you wish to delegate to instead.

  1. You also have the option to undelegate in this window, meaning not delegate your voting power to anyone. This window can also be opened by clicking the three dots next to your existing delegation. Undelegating will enable you to vote directly with your SPK.

  2. Once you have decided on who to delegate to, or undelegate entirely, click “Delegate” in the Actions section.

  3. Now your delegation should be updated.

How to vote with your own holdings

If you do not delegate your SPK voting power, you can vote directly with your holdings on https://snapshot.box/#/s:sparkfi.eth

  • Once you connect your wallet, Snapshot should display your voting power (sum of SPK and staked SPK in your wallet)
  • Review the proposals, and vote!
